Why she tells her story
From a young age, Zainab Barry (she/they) has been drawn to the power of the performing arts. The power to inspire, criticize, and shape our dynamic society. It excites them that the world is becoming more inclusive so that they can take part in this power and share it with others. She hopes that she, too, can inspire, criticize, and shape her society.
Zainab kept this power in mind as they grew up in Northern Virginia. Following their acceptance into James Madison University, they endured a short stint as an aspiring astrophysicist before deciding to return to their true love of theatre.
(Don't worry, they are still passionate about studying the universe!)
She is currently based out of the DMV and is writing, acting, and singing her heart out from the safety of her home.
